HOW DOES IT WORK?
STEP 1 - FREE Site Analysis + Estimate
Can I build an ADU? Schedule an initial call with us and let's find out what options you have that are specific to your location.
Building regulations vary depending on what city and county you're in. Laws about setbacks, lot coverage, and even the cost of materials are changing constantly. It's our job to manage these unknown complexities, lay out what ADU build possibilities you have, and navigate what works within your budget.
STEP 2 - FREE PLANS or Custom Design
As a part of California's recent initiative toward affordable housing, more and more cities and counties now provide FREE ADU Plans that are pre-approved for permits and available to download on their ADU resource pages. Not only does this save homeowners thousands in costs but it also skips the permit approval process which can speed up your ADU build start time by up to several months.
Need a personalized design? No problem, "custom" is what we do! Our specialized team brings over 30 years of custom homes and residential remodeling experience to make sure your needs and vision become reality.
How much will my backyard home cost? C+V will provide you with examples of floor plans and interior designs. These "starting point" options will be based on both our analysis of your property and the personalized needs and goals you've expressed for the project. Our Architectural and Interior Design Team will finalize the design with you. We'll then make sure you're satisfied with the final costs, designs, personalization, and timelines of your backyard home build.
STEP 3 - ADU BUILD
SUBMIT PLANS FOR PERMITS
How does everything get done? Once we have your ADU Build outlined, our team will represent your project and submit for your permits, addressing any building or planning department adjustments. If you use pre-approved plans, any uncertainties that may arise during the permitting process are greatly reduced.
C+V will discuss the overall build schedule with you that is specific to your ADU. We'll then go over what to expect in regard to how the build will affect your daily life and discuss any possibilities that can minimize the impact. After that, we simply purchase materials and build your backyard home.
